Adeebe was taught to cook mainly by her mother (who died in early 1936) in Lebanon, and her mother-in-law and sister-in-law in New Zealand. The quality and quantity of Adeebe's food became legendary among her family and their friends.Adeebe has been very generous in passing on her recipes to one of her grandsons, David Neighbours, Jr., who has carefully and lovingly written them out and presented them in this book.In 2012, David travelled to Lebanon and worked as a volunteer at the groundbreaking Tawlet Souk il-Tayeb restaurant in Beirut, which showcases regional food and cooking from all over Lebanon. David recorded the best recipes he tasted at Tawlet and has presented them in this book, together with Adeebe's family recipes.There are over 150 recipes in this book.
